Welcome

Technology has changed dramatically over the past four decades. During that time, I have watched computers become personal, the Internet become global, and social media become one of the most influential forces in modern society.

These advances have brought remarkable opportunities, but they have also introduced new challenges around privacy, trust, accountability, and the way digital communities are shaped.

Over the years, I have come to believe that good technology is not defined by the number of features it offers. It is defined by how well it serves people, how predictable it is, and whether it earns their trust.

This website is where I share my thoughts, observations, and research on those ideas.

Some articles explore the evolution of technology. Others examine digital communities, privacy, governance, platform architecture, and the principles that I believe will shape the next generation of online services. I also write about lessons learned while developing real-world projects, where theory is tested against practical experience.

My goal is not to predict the future or claim to have all the answers. It is to encourage thoughtful discussion about how technology can better support people, families, schools, organizations, and communities.

Many of the ideas discussed here have influenced projects that I have created, including FamilyNet, a privacy-first social networking platform, and the Siftio Framework, a platform architecture built around trust, governance, accountability, privacy, and long-term sustainability. These projects are practical examples of principles that continue to evolve through experience and reflection.

If you have an interest in technology, digital trust, online communities, or the future of platform design, I hope you will find something here that is worth your time.
